  • Diameter of run wire mesh

Any suggestions on the minimum wire diameter for covering a run?
Reason for asking is I have just used 1mm(.5" x 1")and I have a suspicion this may not be strong enough.

I would think this would be ample thick enough. Its only the un-aptly named chciken mesh that needs beefing up as a fox can tear through it reasonably easy!

        Hi fishpond.

I found this website before building my run.

Weld Mesh for Chicken Coops, Runs and Poultry Housing from The Poultry Pages

As we have lots of foxes, badgers and buzzards we went for beefed up wire and bought 1.6 mm wire from Hills of Devon... got a great price too

If you have spare wire I would double wire around the bottom as the website suggests. I would never use chicken wire... it can be ripped so easily.
