I found that several early eggs were doubles. Sadly, they grow out of it!

How exciting! 'Fraid they don't carry on with the double yolkers for long.Though saying that one of mine laid a huge egg at the weekend-looks like a double yolker and she's 18months.
It's sooooo exciting the first one, no fighting over it!

Yay!! How exciting!! I found with my cream legbars that it was patchy for the first couple of weeks and then we were off, and getting two or three eggs from three hens most days until the winter lay-off period. You might get even more with the black rocks.

She should lay most days for the first year, then tail off gradually over the rest of her life. Well, that's what I was told happens, anyway!
