Was just about to leave allotment last night when I wa collared by another allotment holder asking if I wanted another three chickens.
He explained that I was his last chance after asking all over and he was going to neck them if I didn't take them.
I agreed to take them without seeing them. They are reminicent of chooks from the battery and are quite devoid of feathers (suspect mite problem also)
Anyway added them to one of my small flocks with a cockerel in it. I've always found that a cockerel will take command and stop any bickering. Cockerel attacked me as I was putting them into run so I thought "Thats good he's looking after them already"
Stopped with them for about an hour and he seemed to have stamped his authority on precedings giving chooks a peck if they started fighting and standing in between them acting as referee!.
Tomorrow they get wormed and covered with diatomacious earth!
