  • Flying like a pheasant!

new Bluebelle has decided that birds fly and she's a bird so why not continuously fly over the run fence (3.5metres) not enough that she's allowed to free range all afternoon, shall I clip her wing? if not the dog might have her

LOL, mine only fly at treat time. I haven't bothered to clip them this year, so they've got brave, but they're still hopeless at it. It's very funny when they all decide to go off at once, when I walk out with the treat bucket. They collide with the Geese, who give them a nasty peck for their trouble, but it doesn't put them off.

I'd clip her if you're worried about her getting out.

Is she getting out to lay??

My bantam cayenne did that until I let her hatch a clutch...she was just trying to lay somewhere I wouldn't find them so she could have her babies all to herself instead of us dunking toast soldiers into them

Does she have enough secret little places within the fenced area??

If you do clip her wing, and she still gets out, she'll have absolutely no chance of escaping your dog- or a fox.

For that reason mine aren't clipped either.
