  • All my own work!

I thought you might like to see my new coop plus mini-coop for broody or chicks or quarantine.
I'm really chuffed as I've made them both all by myself! Not the prettiest in the world but thinking the chooks won't mind! I've also made another mini-coop with detachable run that I use for chicks or poorly hens at home.
The mini-coop is from the plans posted by Bramble and the bigger one is out of my head!

Looks good! Must have been a squeeze gettingi n the coop to take a photo through the pophole though!

Good to see the inside of it too, I was worried my perch was too high - they seem to manage fine though!

How does the run attach/detach to the coop btw?

The big coop will be inside a large run - have already got some 6' x 4' weld mesh and timber panels made so will probably make some more or just do posts and mesh as in the other runs. The mini coop will be in a small run within one of the big fox resistant runs so only needs wire or some sort of barrier between sets of chooks!
The coop I have at home just has a couple of wire hooks attaching it to the run. Its sometimes put in the shed so needs to be easily detachable. The run is only small - about 2' x 6' I think. I have other panels I can add if needed

Well done Sue, they look great !

I admire anyone who can do wood work. I am still plucking up the courage to attempt making a raised bed !
You have to loose sight of the shore sometimes to cross new oceans

I would be a perfectionist, but I dont have the time
