    Hi
What greens do you grow for your hens and can you keep up with their demand at this time of year-I'm struggling!

    Chard/leafbeet will stand all winter.
I grow trays of oats & wheat into 'grass' in the gh for the guinea pigs in the depths of winter

Kale and Chard both stand through the winter and are loved by my chooks.

Chard - they've nearly eaten all mine but a lottie neighbour grew a couple of rows then decided they didn't like it all that much! Swaps for eggs!

Thousand head kale. I pick off the leaves every day and it lasts most of the winter, then they have to do without until the grass comes through again.

Our girls are eating the outside leaves from cabbages and the ones that haven't really made it to be a cabbage and also the shaws off our turnips.

mine seem to love savoy cabbage leaves best, but also chard, perpetual spinach(kept producing in the gh),they love sweetcorn and will fight to get to it first, with their cold weather rice, they dont have a bad diet(6 out of 10 going thru moult at the moment, but still averaging 6/7 eggs a day)when i bring some greens out its like a le mans start and heaven help the hindmost...daft chooks..
