  • Mite powder/disinfectant -> compost?

    Just been reading about Stalosan and it being ok to compost, do you lot compost bedding that has been in contact with smite, or other redmite killing products?

    Reason i'm asking is, that i'm planning on starting a new run soon, most likely going to concrete the base and would rather be able to chuck the run's flooring inthe compost heap once it's done with... Seems such a waste to bin it - but after reading a post about stalosan being put veg giving an increased crop i'm beginning to wonder what actually goes in the stuff we're cleaning with?

    I do. I've assumed it will break down in the composting process. I bang it all in together - it doesn't half get hot (mum!)

      I (and many other allotment holders on my site ) compost my chooks droppings and bedding and I haven't noticed any Frankenstein crops appearing on the site.
