  • looking for an incubator, advice

We have decided we want an incubator that does 50 -100 eggs, have been looking at brinsea and maino makes - any recommendations?

Brinsea - always reliable, we run Polyhatches, and hatchmasters both very reliable and good results! we have a feim cabinet too, they do a 50 and an 80 egg autoturner - also a very good incubator, but i do prefer to use my brinseas - parts are very very easy to get hold of too for a brinsea.

we may well be selling off our polyhatches etc to get a large cabinet incubator as we got to the point last year that running four incubators stocked each week jsut wasnt holding enough for us to hatch!

if we do go for a cabinet, it will be the brinsea one as the service and support from them at Brinsea is better than could be expected.

I used to have a 70 egg incubator (one of the casualties of the house fire in 1996). That had an auto-turner a platform that was pushed back and forth by the turning of a wheel, an the eggs were kept in place by bars. When some eggs needed turning and some didn't, you could just put the non-turned ones in an area without bars.
The wheel bit gave up after a while, but it was still a lot easier to simply move the platform 5 times a day, rather than turn each egg individually!
Flowers come in too many colours to see the world in black-and-white.
