  • Is it Cruel and Twisted?

We have a poorly cochin cockerel in the house at the moment under a heat lamp. (fell off an embankment and bashed his bonce) so whilst scrabbling around for drinkers etc, i ended up giving him a terracotta bowl with "Nandos - finest Peri Peri Chicken" written on it.

am i cruel and twisted or do i just hope that the chicken cant read?

Nando is doing well. He has warmed up under the heat lamp, but where his feathers were wet the heat lamp has dried them and now he has a beehive hairdo!

he needs plenty of feeding up, he is quite thin i can only assume that the other cockerels kept him away from the food bin!

still, he is lording it up now on mealworms, boiled egg, corn and pellets.

Nando is fine - happy now hes in the house and warm and spoilt with titbits. The bank he fell from is very high and it was icy so hopefully it was a mere accident and not bullying!!

                  Definately warped
Errm, is it a good time to confess that for ages I had a temporary nest box which due to an odd twist of fate had 'oven ready' scrawled across two sides. Not by me I should add.
I've had a similar problem with Sparky my little poot boy, he was being too polite and letting the others eat first. When the weather was coldest the poor little fella went off his legs. He spent a few days living in our sitting room in a big box getting spoilt rotton. Now back to normal thank goodness.

Yep, Edward our gold brahma cockerel is a wimp and not getting enought food, George the fat buff orpington shoves him out the way, time has come to put Edward in with Georgina, don't feel like doing fencing today though.
