I love 'em. My two Minorcas look absolutely fabulous at the moment - black/irridescent green feathers and pure white ear lobes and red red combs and wattles. They look in the peak of condition. I'm so pleased they are coping with the cold spells. They are also both in lay, producing large white eggs daily.
Interestingly it was their turn for check over/dusting tonight and I noticed that one of the rescue cocks who looks after them had a frostbitten comb. Looks like the tips of the points are going to drop off. Given that he has been running around with them and enduring the same conditions I'm intrigued that he should have frostbite while the Minorcas haven't.
