Oooh, Exchequer leghorns are something I'd love too.
As I have a copper blue maran cockeral, I'm aiming to end up with some splash marans. I'm finding my marans to be really nice birds, although obviously not in the same laying league as the hybrid girls.

I've just also realised that as I only have a blue orpington boy and girls I will end up with splash orps too .

        Welsummer
        Blue Copper Maran
        Bluebell
        Cream legbar (funky hair dos!)

If I had to choose a from the above, it'd probably go in the order of cream legbar/bluebell tied, then welsummer, then the maran

Breeders take note here please, my bday is coming up in a few months

ooo, if I had the room...jubilee and gold edged (can't remember what it's called when the gold feather is edged in black..) Orpington bantams for me. And Amrocks for a friend (these are looking a distinct possibility now!).
Its a fun thread this one

Will never have enough space for them!

Would love some more buff orps (have 1 already)
            Cochin
            Brahma
            Cream Legbar

Unfortunately my little garden won't house them all

I've just googled Amrocks as it was a new bread to me, and I've discovered that Barbara, my green egg layer, looks just like an Amrock because she's half Plymouth Barred!

I really have to stop looking at poultry breeds online.....just makes me want more chooks. My chook-less sister thinks I'm truly sad but, in reality, it is she who is sad for choosing not to have chooks in huge back garden.....

Amrocks ARE pretty (the chicks are dead cute!), and apparently good dual purpose birds. So I'll be raising the chicks then passing them on to friends in the country for eggs or coq au vin (am saving some elderflower wine for the latter)!

After seeing the "What Colour is My Orpington?" thread, I need to add something in Lavender to my dreams.....

The Orps look beautiful, but a tad too large. Hmmmm.......this needs a careful ponder but first I have to undercoat my cupboards.

I have a Lavender/Grey Rooster that's going in the pot unless someone wants him. He's very pretty! I also have a Light Sussex patterned Rooster awaiting the same fate. I can post pics if anyone is interested....

We had a Lavender Araucuna (sp) cockerel, but we found a home for him. Just as well because he was incredibly beautiful.

Where are you getting them from VVG? I'm from Derby myself, and had an old school friend ask me if I know anyone around that sell them...
