Petal, I've read the other thread and it was good, but it made me want to make lots of new wish lists instead of one just for chooks that, obviously, I'm not going to get, of course....

Is Spike on his own then? You can give him any old hen to keep him company until you get DR girls for him. I give my studs companion hens of any sort until I have suitable girls of the same breed to accompany them.

I detest tnns but my little girl has told me they are on my wish list. I have given spike some old bags(hens!) to practice on but he is rather unimpressed!

Any babies that I don't buy will have to be a few weeks old. We now know how to check out the wing feathers. I'm sorely tempted to go back to the guy who sold me 6 week old chicks last year and see if, as I suspect, he had already sexed his chicks and only showed us the boys. All six were cockerels and I'm sure he knew it.
