Hello grapes,
one of my newish banties has taken to turfing the other eggs from the nestbox when she's laying. She's taken a particular dislike to the porcelain dummy egg, and often kicks the other banty eggs out too. There's two nest boxes for 10 birds, plus 2 hutches with the sleeping area a quarter full of straw for laying in. Needless to say, they all lay in one nestbox, except one who lays outside standing up (sigh).
I'm a bit worried as I was hoping the 'turfing out' banty would be a broody this year as she's big and fluffy silkie cross and has already gone broody once. How on earth will I get her to sit on 6 fertile LF eggs?
Will it pass, d'you think??
JM
