fertile eggs

is it ok to eat fertile eggs as getting 3 hens with a cockeral and think i should cull him but has lived with hens foir a year

All my eggs are fertile!...they taste just the same
If you can keep him( noise/space etc) - do so- he'll help to look after the gals!
Just make sure you collect the eggs every day- esp if any of the gals go broody ( the others will often sneak lay under her.)
I believe the gals do tend to go broody more often though if there's a guy about...so you could lose out on a few eggs if you keep him.
(If you decide to cull him- he'll still be edible if you v v slowly casserole him)

All my eggs are fertile too. We, our family and our neighbours eat them every day. Just make sure you collect them regularly.

Yes, you must collect daily. I opened one with a half formed chick in it once - gross!!!!!!

I seem to recall reading somewhere that there is a tiny increase in testosterone in the fertile egg(...certainly not enough to affect the eating qualities)

...anyone else know any more about that???

the biology teacher told me fertile eggs are more nutritious, can't remember the exact components she described..
