Ooo, how exciting!
My incubator has just stopped turning the silkie eggs, and one is very active! Miss Buffy Rose (a ridiculous name for a bantie - my friend Morag says it sounds like a porn star ;-)) is sitting tight on her 7 mixed barred wyandottes, due Sunday/Monday.
I have everything crossed now!

Can you put up a pic of your bantam cayennes Nicos? (I think you may have done this last year but heaven knows which thread!) Are they a French breed?

Not feeling optimistic about having many POLs in September. Also sat some Indian Game eggs (my own) just to see if the cock is doing his thing - he is not it seems as the eggs candled clear after one week and I chucked them away. Mind you, the hens are so quick he doesn't seem able to catch them!

Boo. Nothing from the incubator - boo!
One silkie pipped and then stopped. The other silkie egg which had been bouncing for 3 days now lies still, tho' when I candled it I can see the chick breathing. Its horrid. I know I'm not 'supposed' to intervene but its so hard. The wyandotte stopped developing early on and has gone in the compost bucket.
Boogle.
