  • Extra Large Egg Today!

Our Barred Plymouth hybrid, Barbara, laid a huge egg today. She's our only green egg layer and she's laid a big egg before at 86g but today's was 89g. The first one was a double yolker too. Her usual size eggs weigh about 53g and you can see the difference in today's egg compared to yesterday's.

Think I will make lemon scones today after all!

WOW! I hope it didn't hurt!

I get some whoppers from my Batties; the round ones are usually single, but the elongated ones are often double-yolkers.

Barbara's going about the garden as per usual. I must admit to prolapse fears though, especially if this is a regular thing and they get bigger each time. Still, face that one if it happens.....at least I've got an Animal Management student to hand who isn't squeamish.

So, I'm thinking, teatime...lemon buttermilk scones and blueberry jam....*drool*
