  • Electric Tape?

As you well know I'm on a mission to get some sheep to graze my paddock and pop into the freezer. Chooks are in the paddock inside 100m of electric poultry net. I'd like to keep the hens with the sheep; electric net down two sides & electrip tape down the other sides, would the tape keep the chooks in?????

I forgot to say; I want to combine tape and mesh as I've not enough mesh to go around the whole field. i would put 4 levels of tape, the bottom one quite close to the ground.

If they are anything like my chickens, not a chance! If they can get through - the grass is always greener on the other side

Agree - no chance - even with clipped wings, netting and fencing, chicken wire and battery powered energiser - my three girls always find a way out.

        It is in their nature!

My concern would also be about foxes getting in

Would also be one of my concerns but a friend of mine has kept chickens (wings clipped) for years behind a short chicken wire fence with a wire running around the perimeter, 6inch from the ground, hooked up to a battery. She has never had a visit. Me? Our electric fence was accidentally turned off once and the fox was in..

I have an area that is fenced off by three strands of electric cord. The little Black Crow (Chook) who escapes from time to time, goes under/through/over it and waits inside for me to let her back in with the flock!

You have confirmed what I thought both fox wise and escapeee wise. Have to find a plan B.

Glutton4........... I also have a chook called 'black crow', a mental little pied suffolk )
