Having waited till yeterday to post about my little silkie going broody, just to be safe, went over today and she was literally gasping her last in the bottom of her ark. (f-i-l lets them out in the mornings)
Not sure exactly why..she has been feeding and drinking, and has seemed bright enough. But she was only young and maybe wasn't really fit enough or something?
I'm really upset, I've always wanted silkies and she was a little sweetie. The cockeral is extremely subdued..I hope I dont loose him too. And I haven't got a spare hen of any size to put in with him either.
The eggs are now sitting in my inci...but I have no idea how long they were left, so can only hope they survive. And bless my inci, it's been sat in a barn all winter but came straight up to temp....assuming it doesn't crash overnight.
Keep your fingers crossed for me peeps please.
