Am I paranoid !!!! Help!!

Hi all,

I have a full Brinsea DX20 incubator, I am having infinite trouble maintaining the humididty above 40% RH I have added evaporation pads but they dry out very quickly, which is not a major problem the eggs are all fertile. The only thing is I have used three / four different thermometers and hygrometers but none of them say the same thing. Now I have cracked the humidity (just about) the incubator thermometer is saying the temp is not high enough .

Its only out by 1 degree but the other thermometer is reading correct temp. I have weighed the eggs and created a spreadsheet to monitor weight loss will this be enough to ensure correct humidity levels and should I abandon the constant hygrometer watching, amd just take an average temp reading?

The other half thinks I am paranoid cause I'm a scientist and says know one else would be so pedantic about it but its in my nature. I don't want to be responsible for the fertile eggs demise

What do you all do to ensure the correct incubation settings and am I paranoid??

I dont know if this will help but I have a Brinsea incubator,I dont know which model,a small one though,takes about 18 hens eggs.I use it for hatching Japanese quail.
I turned it on and when it felt like the underside of a birds wing I put 24 quail eggs in.
I turned them a third three times a day and sprayed them LIGHTLY with a plant mister each time.
I got 24 chicks each time,only maybe 1% unhatched or badly hatched.
Maybe it would help to go by instinct and not by science!! Anyway good luck.
