Now for something positive! By chance we stopped off on the way back fro Hitchin to buy some gate posts and hinges from a little place next to a gardening centre. They had chickens in smart pens, toulouse geese waddling around- loads of space and were making the most amazing pens and houses at a very reasonable price. Total opposite of the other place!

and yes i had to go into the gardening centre to get a gooseberry bush.......and order a gunnera......
