I got my first Chooks in the Winter. Mine quickly got in the habit of pecking off the dirt on the bottoms of my waterproof trousers. They carried on into the Spring, and into Summer, when I had shorts and crocks on. A lesson I learned very quickly....

My DD, although she lives in jeans & wellies, quite often gets her bottom pecked. She will insist on wearing these hipster jeans, so if she bends down, or squats, her (very neat) bottom shows. Not sure what our girls think it is, but they do peck it. Poking beaks into the cleft seems to be a good game too. DD has never been hurt, but there is often a cry of 'Excuuuse Me!' Thankfully, I don't have to supervise her at 21....not often anyway.
Once she just nipped in, very quickly, to right their feeder, with bare feet and pink-painted toenails....only once, mind.
Petals safety goggles idea seems great advice. You can get the type that fit over children's spectacles too. And definitely no kissing.....just think where those inquisitive beaks have been!
