I know marriages do them, these people sell 5kg for 6 hens £6.
have a look at the link.

I wondered how long itd be before someone went mainline with smaller quantities.

I wormed mine for the first time yesterday - then read afterwards the way I did it perhaops wasn't the best (splitting the amount into 3 days, then each day into 3 (I have three hens), then offering it them on a strawberry).

Mind you, it was more than I expected. I wormed out the amount they would eat a week (just over 2kg of feed), which is one of those 6ml scoops. Then read that it's better via the feed because they'll have the dose throughout the day rather than in one amount once a day.

i have just had 20kg from marriages to dose my birds,at the local supplier it is £17 plus and then you need the pellets to put it with, another £8,so buying the treated bag @£17.27 including delivery,is a saving of nearly £8,that will allow me enough to treat them now and again as needed..

I have enough chooks that I just divide the whole 20Kg of Marriages stuff among them and when its gone I consider them wormed!

You're not supposed to add any other pellets to the commercilly treated mix, the whole idea is that you just feed the pellets as they come and then this will be the right concentration. If you mix them with anything else the birds won't get the full dose. Also, as they're only supposed to be dosed every 6 months, the feed will have gone out of date by the next time you intend to re-use it.

The easiest way is to set aside as many pellets as you think they'll eat in a week, plus one day so the feeder doesn't go empty on the last day, then mix a small amount of this with enough cod liver oil to coat the pellets, and add the Flubenvet powder and mix it well. Then gradually add the rest of the pellets, mixing thoroughly as each new batch is added. Then empty the feeders of uneaten untreated pellets and refill with the ones you've prepared. Feed only this for a full week, give no human scraps etc which will fill the birds' crops at the expense of the pellets you want them to consume. This method makes sure ypou only mix enough for your particular number of birds, with no waste. It's also more accurate and much less fuss than trying to catch the birds one at a time and feeding them grapes etc. I did try this originally but one bird always got a double dose!

Twice a year is the minimum recommended amount to worm. It is perfectly ok to worm more often and if birds are kept on the same ground all the time they should really be done three or four times a year.
