My dear old chook passed away peacefully last week.
When I was a teen I was chicken mad and had around 30, mostly bantams, in my mum and dad's large garden. When I moved out my mum gave them all away except 3 who got to live on in animal paradise (two which she liked, and one she couldn't catch!). Here are the only two photos of her I could find, one showing how she used to come up the back steps to the laundry room clucking to tell you she wanted dinner or a treat!
Why am I posting about a chicken's passing I hear you ask?! Well, chookie hatched out in 1997 and I think that's a ripe old age for a little bantam x hen!
(Really is an old age home for animals at my parents house... my darling cat Dylan passed away in February at the ripe old age of 19! I got her in 1992 when I was in year 10 at high school!!)
Thanks for reading, Bronwen
