God forbid! I like the idea of ducks and a pond but then I would like pigs and goats too - they can be my pipe dream. I'm not brave enough to do all the "killing stuff". I would just end up with a retirement menagerie! I can just about handle the hens.

It's funny, despite my wife and little one naming the chickens - I don't refer to them as named pets - and I don't "think" I'd have an issue culling one of them. I've watched what seems now like hours of tutorial videos mainly on culling - but a few on preparing them too. I really want to grow my own to eat, but my wife just won't allow it (under the thumb, hate to admit it though!). Mind you, that said we don't have a lot of land and I think it's a valid opinion she doesn't want a load of chickens running around the garden.

Perhaps when we move - I'm tucking away each penny to pay off the mortgage early so we can be saving for a place with a lot of land [my pipe dream!]
