  • pop hole opener and PIR lights

    Hello world
I’m a new to all this so please forgive me for asking what may be a stupid, obvious question. My coop is at the bottom of the garden near my shed/workshop. The shed has a PIR light on it. If I fitted an automatic pop hole opener would I be right in thinking it would open if a passing cat/fox/burglar activated the light. Is there a way round this without deactivating the light?
    Many thanks

I would think it would depend on a) how bright the light is when on and b) whether it shines directly on the opener. Is there any chance of turning the henhouse around so the pop hole faces away from your shed and therefore the light if it comes on? It may just be one of those times when you have to "suck it and see".

    BTW Welcome to the Vine!

      Hi Richmond Hens
thanks for the speedy reply. The hen house is fixed in the position it is in, and although the light doesn't shine directly onto it, I'm a bit reluctant to splash out a 100 quid or so on the off chance. I have spotted a opener which works on a timer which I think may be an option.
      Thanks again
