Chicken dispatching and dressing service M5 J14 - South Glos

Hi

We usually do our own dispatching and plucking etc but hubbys increasing and relentless workload means its just not happening! So I am looking for someone to do the job for us so we end up with them in plastic food bags (provided) so we can put them in the freezer. We have four turkey hens about a year old, three cockerels about 9 months old and 18 light sussex cockerels about 16 weeks old. We are happy to travel a reasonable distance. If anyone can point me in the right direction, I would be most grateful. Many thanks for reading.

The only place I found in Somerset was in Langport - TA10 - its a fair distance from you though. If you want the details PM me - not cos its secret, but cos I really cant remember where I put them - but the missus will know!

Hilary B on here has offered her services before now, but she lives in Wiltshire.

Do you not have a local butcher who will do it? We do our own, but a lot of people round here take their birds to the local butcher who offers a despatch, plucking and gutting service for £3 a bird. You deliver the birds live in a box, and they get returned oven ready in a plastic bag.

We have a local poultry breeder/supplier who has just started this service too. He has a trained butcher working for him and it's regularly inspected by local council so thats where mine will be going!

Thanks to you both for your replies. Travelling to Somerset or Wiltshire are both an option for me if I cannot get it done more local. I had asked the butchers that deal with our pigs but they don't do poultry. Didn't occur to me to try others! but will have a ring around. Thanks again.
