Bluebell, a blue maran POL I got 2 weeks ago laid her first egg today. 
She went in the nestbox and 10 minutes later was singing the "I've laid an egg song". It's a respectable 40 grammes, not bad for a first. She had started to stoop when touched but her comb is tiny and black so I wasn't sure if she was ready yet. Tulip, the Sussex rock I got at the same time is also stooping and her comb is looking bigger and pinker. They both surprised me last night too by running the gauntlet past the oldies and putting themselves to bed in the coop. 
Up until last night we had been putting them in after the others were settled.
