  • Lamp Stopped Working

    Just what I need....

I have 2 chicks or 10 days old under a Brinsea eco 20 lamp. I have just noticed the light flashing and I dont think it is working...

The chicks only have wing feathers... they are in the house...

    What shall I do?

What does the flashing light on the lamp actually mean? any ideas?

Don't know about the lamp, never used that type, but for an alternative heat source I have used in the past a normal anglepoise lamp over a cardboard box, also a heated bean bag (the microwaveable ones) wrapped in a towel. To be honest, anything warm that they can sit on, snuggle against will do short term. They are not as frail as day olds so will manage ok for a bit till you can get the lamp working again.

I only ever use an anglepoise lamp when rearing chooks.

All good, I called Brinsea who where brilliant, they said it would be the transformer plug and sent a new one out that day, in the meantime they said I could use the one from the incubator as they are the same!

That's good to hear Munch. Good customer service too, well done Brinsea.
