hi, i have liked the thought of keeping some chickens for a while now. i have no experiance what so ever in keeping them and wouldent know where to start. has anyone got any advice or info they could share please. i would like to keep them on one of my allotment plots.thanks in advance for your information.

There's a wealth of information here on the forum. You just need to look through the threads that others have posted on this very subject.
I keep mine on an allotment. If you go out to work it canbe very difficult in winter months to be able to attend to them. Not insurmountable but something you need to consider.

best thing you can do is stalk the forums and search out fox proofing, red mite, rodents and keeping water fresh. keeping water thawed is a nightmare in the garden let alone the lottie which is why mine are coming home for the winter as next winter I will be back in work so will only get there once daily. Impossible with snow on the ground as all grinds to a halt here...........Comment
