we have about the same amount of snow here and will have to put wellies on soon to trudge out there to let the girls out. think i will move there food into the run area (i also have little clip on food pots on wire mesh side but leave the run open in case they want to venture out in the garden. will have to keep making sure that the water is not iced up also. if they came out in it they would be in it literally up to their necks! cos its going to be all my fault when i open their door.........all the drama will begin!!!

Well..... They love it, I went to let them out, put there food and water inside the run but they ran straight past there food to explore what this white stuff was. They love it running after each other. Quite comicle really. Gave them some meal worms to feast on as well. Thanks all for your advice.

Yeah let 'em out and have fun! just make sure that they have water in the liquid form

I remember ours trying to eat the snow as it fell the first time they ever saw snow. Now it's greeted with disgust. We're back to the sogginess now - all of our snow (pathetic wee bits) melted yesterday afternoon, and then it rained.

Mine havent even ventured outside. They ran to the door. Squabbled for a while to see out and then went back in. I have put pots of food in their coop and the water is just at the bottom of their ladder now so they dont have to touch it. They have had their door open for 5 hours now and still no sign of them coming out!! Shows how different they all are.

Two hens with warm porridge, garlic and mealworms, sat in their coop. Not coming out!

vv I put chopped bread and hotwater and mixed their food into that. They seemed to enjoy it.

Mine had no choice - I cleaned their coop out so they were turfed out of the run. As long as they've somewhere dry and out of the wind, mind seem fine in the snow. I found them later perched on top of some wood up against a fence.

The exbats haven't eaten any pellets all day becasue they are racing around the garden and eating snow whilst the others are looking at them in disgust.

One of my non exbats is doing a comedy walk through the snow and making me giggle.
