chooks as weather vanes

a couple of weeks ago some of my chooks decided they wanted to camp out, I put them all in the coop,much to their disgust, and thought,s**t mites again.
Next night, in no problems at all
This has happened a couple of times since but this week have had no problems at all, night has fallen ,chookies have gone to bed.
Weather this week has been dreadful,wind rain thunder, but tonight I went to shut them in and 4 of them were camped outside,night is very still and calm and forecast for tomorrow is good.
Do they know something we dont??

They must know something the weather forcasters dont know! The weather has been terrible here for Ma and having real problems at the lottie this year.

Seriously though, do they have enough ventilation in the coop? I'm sure you will have made sure of that and it's just another one of those weird things chooks do.
