.....went to shut the girls in last night, later than usual because I was knitting. Shone the torch round.....blood everywhere. Brightest red fresh blood. Head count, all present & correct.
Pick up each girl nearest the blood and look at them closely. Penny Copper Marans has a nosebleed! We think there was a management coup (coop?!) We've cleaned it up and purple-sprayed, and we're keeping our eyes open. Penny is unfazed.
This morning there was squabbling at the feeder, which is unusual. Eddie the cockerel went a fortnight ago, and we've just re-introduced our poorly ex-bat, so change all round. Add to this DD changing the henhouse lay out, might have caused some upset.
That bit of blood was scary enough - hope I never see a fox attack. Must be horrible, unspeakable, for those who have.
