Have just attempted it, almost ended up with it in my eye as she shook her head (must have stung). I'm hoping it'll grow a bit as its split away from the side - then ill get the vet to trim the tip off.

      Well see!

Looks like you have a chicken whisperer on your hands. Mine still run away from me as they have done since the day I had them.

I wonder what would happen if I added a few to my pair now.
I'm only here cos I got on the wrong bus.

I do, especially after the weekend, I fancy some bantams now, as I'm not really after the extra eggs.

              Any recommendations?

I can definately recommend a visit to your local CA meeting - 'I'm a chook keeper and I need help'

Modern English game bantams - very small birds with long elegant legs, intelligent, chatty easily tamed....pekins of any colour - smallish, rounded quite fluffy birds, easily tamed......silkies - completely daft looking, don't sound like any other chicken, black skin, good broodies...come to that, any silkie hybrid is good too! If I could only have one breed, it would be the modern game.

Rosecombs because they look so smart. Araucana bantams because of the gorgeous green eggs. Seramas if you want something really dinky!!
