Natural Poultry Wormer

I'm not sure if this is allowed but......a new poultry wormer came on the market about 6 months ago, it's called Verm-X, they have been making natural wormers for a long time now but mainly for horses. Most people if they worm their chooks use a wormer called Flubenvet which is registered for poultry but it is a pain to measure in small doses, it is much easier to use if you have about 1,000 . Verm-X is a totally natural product and I have been using it on my chooks for quite a while now and it does work and it is very easy to use and measure. The other natural organic wormer available is Diatom. Cider vinegar can also be used as a worm deterrent (worms do not like an acidic environment).

To obtain flubenvent, you now need a perscription from you vet, so it is well worth investigating these other products available

I've never used diatom but have heard some good things about it, I use ACV and garlic as well

Another natural wormer is Rhubarb, if a chicken eats the leaves, it means that the chicken is needing worming, and the rhubarb does this job fine so all you have to do is have a plant available to them and they will take care of it themselves!

I thought they were poisonous too but one of my chooks seemed to be enjoying a meal of them last year and she's still going strong

A couple of my younger birds have had a feast on my rhubarb. After poultrychat had commented, I looked through my magazines to see if I could find where I found it, but with more eggs hatching soon, a new brooding hut took priority!! Only got 130 pheasants and 55 partridge due, and another 200 eggs (thankfully the last of the season) to go in the incubator!!!
