Advice on cockerels (especially Sid)

I know somebody who would take Sid and give him a good life, but unfortunately in Kent!

I have two cockerels about five years old that I hatchd from eggs and another younger one that I 'rescued'

I need some sort of delaying tactics to let Sid (Vicious), his brother and a younger cockerel see their lives out.

What do you reccomend?

But cockerels can live 15 years if well cared for, so that's a loooooong delaying tactic you're searching for, Snadge.

Are they in a run? Could you build them a "cockerel" run with a top that's high enough for them to walk about comfortably, but low enough that they can't stretch out their necks to crow? In the same way that dogs can't bark very easily lying down, cockerels can't crow with their heads down.

Or hand them in to the RSPCA.

As a matter of curiosity, how do you manage to keep 3 without them fighting? When I kept and bred my own banties, free range in an acre of paddock and garden, I always had to dispose of young cockerels not wanted for breeding, by the age of 6 months, 'cos they chased and fought each other continuously.

I didn't realise they could live that long mothhawk! I'm beginning to think their fate is sealed!
However much I dislike it I'm personally going to have to knock em on the ed as I won't let anyone else adminster the last rights.
I'll probably dig a trench in the allotment for all three tomorrow and bury them rather than burning them (poor Sid wouldn't fit in the stove anyway)
I won't do the deed tomorrow though, and when I do, I'll have to do all three together to get it over with.
I don't mind killing animals to put them out of their misery or for food...............but killing for killing sake goes sorely against the grain and I'm sure there'll be tears..
Must take a few piccies of them as well, before they are dispatched.

PS They are in seperate runs with there own little flocks. Two of them along with another two were hatched on the same day and lived happily together until a year ago. Once they were sperated though they could never be returned to the same run or else there would be a bloodbath.

I would like the interfering , bureaucratic and autocratic a**ewipe to know that Sid and his exploits are famous and will be sadly missed .......please feel free to pass that on to him .
