If budget is not a problem go to Omlet.co.uk they can deliver a complete package, housing, hens and food - but it comes with something of a price tag!

Alternatively get your hands on a copy of Practical Poultry, there are several pages of suppliers for houseing and hens, you should find something there.

    Enjoy

Practical Poultry is a monthly magazine from Kelsey publishing, Westerham, Kent. It is usually stocked in WHSmiths and 'all good newsagents'. The magazine (I have only just started reading it - having only kept hens since end on March) seems to be 'the' title for the fancy, there are articles on beginning hen keeping and the choices/problems and on more indepth topics for the experienced, I found it very interesting and have subscribed.

There is a section at the back which lists, by area, the poultry stockists and the type of hen stocked. There are also numerous pages of adverts (approx 10% of the mag is advertising) which seems to cover the main names for housing solutions.

        Hope this helps

How about keeping your eyes open for a free/cheap shed in the local papers and converting it to a chicken house. In theory the only alterations you need to make is add a perch, cut a pop hole, put in a box or something for them to lay in and off you go. Add a run if you don't want them to roam the garden.

As for finding a supplier of birds, where would you buy your feed from - do they have a board with adverts on. Your local Ad-Mart paper

Their needs are very simple so don't worry too much, just get them and enjoy them
