Hi, I have brought a 30kg spring feeder for my hens, they have had it for 2 days do far and still haven't got the hang of how it works yet. They peck at the spring put not hard enough and only 1 or 2 pellets fall out. Has anyone else had any experience with these feeders and how long did it take for your hens to figger out properly?. Thanks all.

They will learn to use it given time. Hunger will teach them, they won't starve! Just check the spring is not too tight and that it does release enough pellet when pecked, but you don't want it too loose either and dropping too much feed on the ground which then ends up getting trampled and wasted, and attracting vermin.
