I'm glad it's 'only' broodieness and she isn't ill.

Might be worth calling your vets to let them know! ( and maybe look for a more chook experienced vet for future use???)

One of my young hens has been desperately broody during her first laying season - sat on the nest for the full 3 weeks twice, then started again... We found someone storing fertile eggs and waiting for a broody hen, and let her try her luck. She's been a lovely mum - not nasty at any stage, and very good at looking after her chicks - so it's been really useful, 'cos now I know I've probably got a reliable broody if I want one in the future . Only problem now is how to wean her off the chicks! They're going to have to go back to their 'real' home in a couple of weeks, and mum still gets frantic when I try to separate them! Hmmm... I feel a separate post coming on...

You could send them all abck to their 'proper' home and collect your hen when she's finally 'let go'!
