New Hampshire info, please

Hello all
A friend of my daughter has had a rather disastrous visit from Mr Fox and he has been left with one New Hampshire chicken. Sadly he is giving up the whole chicken thing, so I'm looking to 'adopt' her. There are a couple of things I hope you wonderful people can help with. I have found completely opposite ‘reviews’ on New Hampshire chickens on the web. Some say they are prone to go broody and make good mothers and are competitive and aggressive with other chickens and others say they are placid and friendly and don’t have a tendency towards broodiness. Oddly enough generally speaking, it seems to be the US sites that say ‘broody and aggressive’ and the UK sites ‘non broody and friendly’. Also what would be the best way to introduce her. I’m thinking of getting another couple of girls at the same time, keep them separated for a couple of weeks so that then I can introduce three new girls instead of one to the flock. (I say ‘flock’, I’ve only got three now!, my last battie die last week) Any thoughts and advice would be much appreciated, as always.

I had a new hampshire hen, she was alovely girl, very pretty too. She got on well with the other girls even though she was the boss she was never agressive. She spent much too much time preening to ever get broody!

many thanks for the reply. I was beginning to think no one kept New Hampshires and I dreamt the whole thing. Unfortunately it turned out to be more of a nightmare as Mr Fox came back and finished the job, so I didn't get the poor chook after all
