  • Too many ads?

For some time I have been having real trouble using this forum. It seems to take forever to load up and just changing from page to page takes an age too. It is putting me off using it tbh. Is it the amount of ads do you think? I don't seem to have this trouble with other forums I use.

Adblock here too. I started using it when "adult" dating sites (with scantily clad females) appeared at the bottom of this page. What business that has on a gardening website, I don't know.

Bombarding users with adverts is counter-productive if we all just turn them off. Fewer ads, better targeted is the way that companies are going now I think.

I tried adblock for Explorer last night and it was horrible. Made the computer really cranky and juddery as it looked for and hid the ads (yes, they still popped up from time to time before disappearing), and it also planted various things on my 'puter which I strongly objected to - links and shortcuts to games sites and other things I don't want or need, a new toolbar, and some b*^JKy link in my Start Page dialogue which took me to something called MySearchDial which took over every page I tried to get to. Sadly I've disabled or removed it all this morning. Maybe I was just unlucky...
