Hi all I don't have any chickens yet but I am doing my research about them 😀 does anyone have an EcoFlex coop? I saw them advertised in a magazine and just wondered what thoughts were.

Just had a quick look at some piccies.

A lot of them seem pretty small...although the ones lifted off the ground do give extra room and shelter from the sun/ snow/ rain.
No idea about the fox- proof and build quality though.

Ive just had a quick look at some photos too. My initial thoughts are that they are really too small! Though this depends on how many you want to keep and which coop you are thinking of, but the numbers they are suggesting to keep in each one looks a bit tight.
They are lightweight- how light? Can you fix them to the floor? Will they blow away if it's windy
They slot together - as Nicos has said...how fox proof are they? Could they come apart? A fox killed my rabbit during the day by jumping on the top of a wire meshed run.
I'm no DIYer, so wouldn't know what to expect with the materials they are using but would they sweat when the chickens are in at night? There doesn't seem to be much ventilation in the sleeping quarters.

This is VERY similar to mine ... but is about double what I paid although that's made of plastic so should last forever
The sheltered area under the coop is favoured by my birds as a place for the dust bath
The slide out coop floor is great idea for ease of cleaning

When I remember the make of mine I will post here

I only intend to get 3 or 4 as they are for the garden. I was going to put the coop on paving stones with areas of soil and bark too, then have a big enclosed run round it.

Do you think Eglu would be better? I like the wooden ones too but am I right in thinking the plastic ones better protection against red mite?

BB, that's the same as mine, but mine has wooden roofs and not felt. We built an extension for the run, so they have even more space but I'm going to extend it again and also the height of it, so I can get in and clean it better than I can at the moment. We have 4 warrens and they have ample space, but I'd like them to have more. When they are racing each other over a snail I can then place bets on who's going to win!!
You may say I'm a dreamer... But I'm not the only one...

If we get a break in the weather I will post some pic's of my overall layout,Ancee I cut the end out of the run & extended it by about 6 feet mainly to be used as a feeding/drinking area, that & a couple of other "structures" are contained in a predator proof cage approx 3metres x 6metres.
We had 4 birds but currently down to 2 but will be getting another 2 in the very near future
