They are genuinely free range and well cared for. I've put my name down for 3. They're sorting out collection dates.

Retirement homes needed for freerange hens (lots) West Wales

Bit far away for me or else I would have saved a few!
I've just taken delivery of six retired hens from another allotment holder. Welcomed to Snadges Retirement Emporium this evening.
Apparently they've stopped laying and he doesn't want to keep feeding them for no return.
I have about 20 now, the majority of which are geriatric. £6.00 a week in feed seems a small ammount to pay for 3 or 4 fresh eggs a day!My Majesty made for him a garden anew in order
to present to him vegetables and all beautiful flowers.- Offerings of Thutmose III to Amon-Ra (1500 BCE)

The Retired hens on offer lay the eggs that go into Burns Dog food About Burns Pet Food | Burns Pet Food . I see them scratching about in the fields whenever I'm down in Carmarthenshire. They seem to have the best of everything a chook could wish for

Glad I'm t'other side of the Country...
Most of mine are around two now, I reckon. I bought them last summer as PoL. Scatty buggas. I still have four old Batties left. They lay about an egg a month each, but they're just so friendly. I have avoided the BHWT website recently, too. 17 is enough to feed over the winter. All the best - Glutton 4 Punishment
