Hens in the snow

Well actually not in the snow because they didn't like it one bit haha!

I had to laugh watching them shuffling round the edge of the henhouse where there was no snow then promptly going back indoors and staying there all day. It was their first experience of a proper blanket of snow. Thankfully it's all melted now.

I presume that's the usual way with hens?

Yep, mine were the same so I built them a covered coup extension

Mine have a covered bit as well, but they'd have to walk through the snow to get there!

A bit of a late reply but I put down some pallets for them and just brushed snow off when I let them out and put out some water and feed. they werent keen on walking in it. Still ex farmed hens so probably never got to see snow before.
