Hi
I've posted about some worries over Enid, my Light Sussex. from your suggestions I realised that her droopy behaviour in the morning is unlikely to be a fatal illness it is, in fact, part of the egg laying procedure...
Quite why she has decided to lay in the run, I don't know but underneath the chair I keep to sit on and watch them is obviously now her favourite spot.
This morning after searching the straw for her brown rice allocation she went in the corner by the chair looking withdrawn and rather vacant. I went outside the pen so I could watch her, she hunched up, wings out a bit and curved round, her eyes closing - and she laid her egg - perfect, no blood streaks, no soft shell. After a few minutes contemplation she was back to her normal self going off to nibble on some cabbage.
I think Enid is a drama queen.
Sue
