-next most important step is to worm them with Flubovet (nothing else will do), takes a week (Your chickens will be much better for it) and I recommend that the eggs are destroyed for that week.(just because you can't see them doesn't mean they haven't got them---the books say do it every 6 months.)

Can I add that during worming with Flubenvet there is no withdrawal period for the eggs - they are safe to eat and sell although a bird must not be slaughtered for food for 7 days after treatment.

Hi Janzbro sorry to hear about the chuck. The only advice I can give is flubenvet the chucks I've posted up regarding sudden deaths and I was in the same boat as you using things like vermex Smite Cider vinegar etc thinking No it cant be worms but no i'm thinking it may just have been mine have been on a worming course and I have seen a distinct change in the poo.

Good luck with getting your hands on Flubenvet, I tried just about every supplier on the internet with no luck at all. Another Grape put me on to layers pellets with Flubenvet added, got a bag of that within 3 days. We lost two chooks within 6 weeks and I'm now convinced it was down to worms. The remaining girls aren't overkeen on the new feed but it's for their own good and my peace of mind. Hope all goes well
