Thanks, I think! I will have to see when/if I get him.
I live out in the sticks but do have neighbors close by, I have seen these anti crow collars and they appear to cut noise right down which will be a god send if they work.
They look beautiful birds, jet black with iridescent green/blue sheen in the sun

...and so have I.
Not natural at all, but ...humph...I don't really know what to say.
...why not contact the RSPCA and see what their view is..it might be favourable??? Never heard of them before, but they certainly do reduce the volume but at least do allow the laddie to crow .
Well perhaps if you manage to find your laddie, it might be worth mentioning it to your neighbours and mention that you have the idea of the collar.
They may not mind the crowing, but at least you then have a back up plan...
I quite enjoy hearing our 2 boys crowing, but your neighbours may feel differently...and that is the main concern."Nicos, Queen of Gooooogle" and... GYO's own Miss Marple

Yep, they do Scarlet, but at least the lads are able to crow and warn off other males and warn of danger.
That's why I suggested it might be worth contacting the RSPCA and/or RSPB to see if they are actually OK'd for use in the UK???????Last edited by Nicos; 27-02-2016, 06:35 PM."Nicos, Queen of Gooooogle" and... GYO's own Miss Marple

Wow, i had never heard of them either, horrible, i really do not mind the sound, my neighbour has what seems like a couple of cockerels but it doesn't bother me.I grow 70% for us and 30% for the snails, then the neighbours eats them

I would not mind him crowing at all, it will be my neighbors if anyone, and I disagree that they look cruel, the ones I have seen are just a piece of velcro that goes round the neck, like a dog collar on a dog. It just doesnt allow the air sacks to fully inflate therefore a quieter crow, but its loose enough to allow food to pass into out of the crop and of course to breath normally.
I will contact the RSPCA and find out what the official legal line on these are but assumed as they were for sale they would indeed be legal82.6% of people believe any statstic!
