Hello, by now you must all think I am a hopeless chook keeper, but honest we have just had a run of bad luck, and despite the ailments four out of five are now fine!
One of our newest chicks, a White Sussex, always seems to have a bit of a cough - has been like it since we got her (the other chick that we bought at the same time from the same breeder and I think they were kept together had cocidiossis but with medication got over it) The White Sussex has shown no signs of other illness other than the odd bubble from her nose, and that has only happened twice in three weeks. However yesterday and today when you go to pick her up its a 'strangled squark' or sort of cough, like she is trying to clear her throat. This is now getting worse (it has been a gradual thing). Other than this she is bright as a button, eats my vegetable patch, poos for Britain (like the others!!) all healthy ones! Flaps, runs, jumps around and seems perfectly healthy.
Any ideas please??? We worm with Vermex and did that about 2 weeks ago. So I dont think it can be worms, which is the only other thing I can think of.
