Chicken veruca

Hi all, small pumpkins other half here, she's way at the moment and I'm in charge.
We've had a lame chicken for a few days so I picked her up as she went past me today and had a look.
She had a small black spot in the middle of her foot which was slightly puffed up, it looked just like a thorn in there so I had a quick dig with my knife and was quite surprised that she really didn't seem to mind too much.
Anyway after a couple of minutes I pulled this out of it, do you guys think it's a verucca? Can't thing what else it is if not, it's certainly not a thorn.
First photo shows it end on with the little black dot on the end, second photo is it next to a 5p!
I'm not going to tell SP that ive posted this, we'll see how long it takes her to notice.

I think you are right Bob, looks like some kind of Verruca/Wart. I am sure she will feel better for its removal. Do you have anything to put on the wound? i.e Antiseptic.
