The last couple of days it was dark when I went to collect eggs and asumed chooks had stopped laying for the winter.![Frown](https://www.growfruitandveg.co.uk/grapevine/core/images/smilies/frown.gif)
I pre warned OH that we may have to get used to shop bought eggs for a couple of months. This went down like a lead balloon!![EEK!](https://www.growfruitandveg.co.uk/grapevine/core/images/smilies/eek.gif)
Imagine my joy when because it was a bit lighter when I got to the plot this evening, I spotted an egg on top of the straw in the nest box. After having a furtle I found another five.
Which means the three eggs i am getting a day is still happening!
Instead of straw from a bale, I've been using chopped straw that you get for hampsters and suchlike. The eggs had slipped easily through the straw rather than being deposited on the top!
