So to stop their eggs being downgraded the bans being lifted to free range farms because of costs of downgrading. Politics getting in the way of common sense! That's an EU law about the labelling having to change after so many days of being kept inside isn't it? They've probably made hundreds of laws on packaging alone. I was buying free range eggs the other day, knowing the chickens are being kept inside at the moment because of the risk with avian flu,the public who buy eggs are aware! But its still a free range farm & people know chickens are being kept in for health & safety. I don't like the idea of buying free range eggs if these chickens are being let out early,I can see a problem where they let the birds out & they catch the avian flu, then what would happen!!

Feed the soil, not the plants.

On goglin DEFA site and map,we are inside a restricted area,as we very near to a large water park, also picked up some very usefull info, like us setting up from new,be aware that the area to be used, has been open to wild birds,so care has to be taken in case it has been ifected, especialy as it's loose soil and they might have been on a hunt the worms,i have not seen anything nasty,

In Wales the Prevention Zone has been extended to cover all of Wales until 30th April
                    Welsh Government | Avian Influenza
I believe Scotland is the same.
There has been a slight relaxation about letting birds out but restrictions to keep them separate from wild birds still apply.

We are surrounded by high risk areas but the map shows that we are in the clear to let them out into a fenced off area. They are soooo happy to be out and able to munch on the grass!

I had my 3 out yesterday "helping" me in the garden Such a relief to be able to let them out again.
Wonder when it will end? Must be terrible for the poultry farmers.
